On Friday, VfL Wolfsburg re-started the Bundesliga season with an emotional 4-1 win over league leaders Bayern Munich. The 23 year-old Kevin De Bruyne had two goals and an assist in the win. Although Bayern still sit atop the Bundesliga table, Wolfsburg are now a mere eight points behind in second place.
Even without suspended Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid comfortably defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 on Saturday night to maintain their lead in La Liga. Karim Benzema had two second half goals, including an absolute stunner in the 76th minute, in the victory.
Rounding out the weekend, Arsenal scored five goals on Sunday and easily defeated Aston Villa 5-0 in front of their home supporters. Five different players scored for the London-side, including Mesut Özil who also earned an assist in the win. Starting XI
